This is where I publish extracts my books.
Andrew and the Second Dragon War is a book I never intended to write. I've never even considered writing a book about dragons or sorcerers, but books (like life) seem to happen while I'm making other plans.
I was transitioning out of a job I had done for eight years. In the melancholy of turning over the program to someone who was much younger (and smarter) than me, I chatted with an old friend who was surprisingly sympathetic. He pointed out that for more than 30 years, every time someone woke a dragon we had saddled up, and that it was time to let the kids take a shot at it.
I was waiting for Cheryl Mbaye, who swears she's never late, and I picked up a pen and some paper and wrote the Legend of Garth. From that grew the book and, I'm pretty sure, some more like it if I ever get time to write them.
I also need to thank my dear friend Karen Basilik Stewart who graciously proofread the draft manuscript. I tried to correct all she found (and some things I picked up along the way), so any remaining errors are mine, not hers.
The target audience is 9+, so it's got the same market as Harry Potter. Fortunately, I'm not looking to make a fortune off it, so it's here for anyone to read.
Enjoy. I'll post some more books as I get them written. I also have an old one Kathleen has promised to transcribe, but I'm not sure where she is on that.
